DDR Survey – The results are in!
Our recent survey on DDR configuration, tuning, and verification was a great success. Thanks to all who completed the survey – your feedback is valuable to us.
We used the survey to find out if such a DDR tool would solve problems you are currently experiencing, or expect to experience in the future. The overall majority, 75%, said yes. Many said no because they are not using DDR memory, or don’t have a current embedded project.
Another great result of the survey was the extensive feedback provided on additional features that would be valuable in such a product. We will use that information as we move forward.
We also asked which microcontroller or processor you wanted supported first, and the top ten were: Freescale QorIQ, Xilinx Zynq, Freescale i.MX6, TI OMAPx, Future Intel Architectures, Intel Architecture 3rd Generation (Sandy Bridge/Ivy Bridge), Intel Atom, TI Sitara AMxxx, Freescale MPC 8xxx, and APM PowerPC 4xxx.
And lastly, we gave away an Apple iPad 2. To pick the winner I used random.org to generate a random number between 1 and the total number of respondents who completed the survey. The lucky winner was 60, which turned out to be Nidal Khalil. Congratulations to Nidal, we hope you enjoy your brand new iPad 2.
We will be conducting another survey and I welcome your feedback on what a good prize should be – Apple iPad, Samsung Galaxy, Google Nexus, Microsoft Surface, Asus Transformer Pad, Amazon Kindle Fire, or some other tablet? Please comment and let me know.
