- Automates in-system device programming for custom circuit board designs
- Embedded software runs from the on-board processor providing great speed and flexibility
- Integration with JTAG hardware provides single-connection solution
Kozio, Inc. (www.kozio.com), a provider of embedded software tools for hardware optimization, verification, and programming, today announced the Kozio® VTOS Program™ tool for fast in-system device programming. VTOS Program harnesses the full power of your embedded circuit board design and takes advantage of fast transport interfaces to reduce the time required to program large images. VTOS Program is a versatile design and production programming tool that can be installed and configured in minutes. VTOS Program works with Kozio’s vAccess for integration with any test executive.
VTOS Program automates the process of creating new programming operations. Quickly discover storage devices and configure file transfers. Once tested and satisfied, export your configuration for use with your automated programming station. Files can be transferred from a PC, or from other on-board storage devices such as an SD Card, USB Flash Drive, or other fast transfer sources.
The VTOS Program solution provides a GUI for configuration, and embedded firmware that runs on the main processor of your circuit board design. The firmware image can be loaded over JTAG or other supported interfaces (Serial, USB, SD Card). Communications from the PC to the target can be accomplished over a JTAG or Serial connection. The firmware image is very small and loads in a few seconds. Once running, the VTOS Program firmware can transfer files and program any Flash device. All Serial NOR Flash devices are supported. Support is also provided for NAND, EEPROM, Quad SPI, and other programmable devices.
For designers or test engineers, VTOS Program provides a tool that is easy to install with no steep learning curve. The task-focused user interface makes it easy to configure board-specific settings, automatically scan for storage devices and add them to the programming operations. With Kozio’s vAccess™, VTOS Program project information is easily exported for execution with NI’s TestStand, or Kozio’s scripting language, for automatic test execution on the manufacturing line. Manufacturing test engineers can integrate VTOS Program into their production process providing fast programming without running any other embedded software.
VTOS Program is part of the new Kozio line of embedded tools, which includes VTOS DDR™ and VTOS Scan™, addressing complex challenges faced by semiconductor, component provider, and system companies.
VTOS Program™ is available now for Freescale’s QorIQ family of processors, Xilinx Zynq-7000 SoCs, with support for other processors coming regularly. For more information, visit www.kozio.com/vtos-program. Support for a new SoC can be released in as little as a month, please contact us to request support.
