Kozio Showcases VTOS on Virtual System Prototypes
September 23, 2014 – Kozio announces partnership with Carbon Design Systems, a provider of cycle-accurate virtual system prototypes. The partnership combines Kozio’s light-weight verification software with Carbon’s virtual system prototypes, providing faster verification and characterization for SoC designers.
Kozio released an easy-to-use version of VTOS™ and Integration Workbench™, with pre-built Carbon models for ARM® Cortex-M4, ARM® Cortex-A9, and ARM® Cortex-A15. These versions of VTOS can be used without any configuration or porting. Kozio prepared pre-built models that include a vAccess™ client that runs from within the model. That client allows Integration Workbench to communicate with VTOS running under the model. These Carbon Performance Analysis Kits (CPAKs), as they are called by Carbon, include the VTOS installer, and are available from Carbon System Exchange.
VTOS CPAK Description
The CPAK is an ARM® Cortex system constructed in SoC Designer Plus using models from Carbon IP Exchange. It includes a version of Kozio’s Verification and Test OS (VTOS) – a richly featured verification software package that is ready to load and run on this model.
This virtual prototype is provided to demonstrate the capabilities of VTOS, including an interactive run-time environment for running verification and traffic generation scenarios, and providing directed and constrained random test methods that do not require the generation or compilation of software source code. VTOS contains all the software needed to initialize the processor, memory, and other bus interfaces.
Included with this virtual prototype are instructions for loading and interacting with VTOS running on your model. Running the installer, loading VTOS, loading a license, and executing a test can be accomplished in 10-15 minutes.
This is a limited version of VTOS intended as a starting point for your virtual prototype. The full version of VTOS contains a large library of additional verification capabilities that can be extended through VTOS Builder, VTOS SDK, or through professional services. VTOS provides a test environment that runs in all phases of the product cycle, from pre-silicon simulation to post-silicon manufacturing.
Kozio supported CPAKs can be obtained form Carbon’s web site. There is no additional charge to evaluate VTOS for 30 days.
