JTAG is widely used as a processor debug port, and nearly all modern embedded processors support it. Embedded system development typically relies on JTAG for programming on-board memories and for software debugging. But for prototype bring-up and test, JTAG can be extended with a design verification environment plus a functional test library.

Improve JTAG With a Design Verification Environment

A hardware engineer needs to quickly bring-up and verify the operation of a new prototype. Kozio adds a verification environment to extend the JTAG capabilities. With Kozio, a hardware engineer can expand JTAG to utilize a full set of functional tests (e.g. CPU, video, ethernet, cameras, sensors, memory, etc) that can quickly verify the design and the quality of the PCB design.
